biography

Birthdate: 15th April, 1950
Born: New York, USA

Scott Baio was born in 1961 in New York. The intentional kid liked the lights and cameras and began acting in commercials when he was nine years old. Baio made his film-acting debut in 1976 when he starred as the male lead of Alan Parker's film, "Bugsy Malone" opposite co-star Jodie Foster. Baio was reteamed with Jodie Foster in the film "Foxes," and starred in a handful of other films. Though casting agents and producers recognized his real talent, the wave of feature roles ebbed while television offered career opportunities that would cast his career into the mainstream. Having grown up in Brooklyn with a rough-and-tumble attitude and heavy accent, Baio was more than naturally tailored for the blue-jeans clad role of Chachi Arcola, cousin to the legendary "cool" Fonzie. Cast by producer Garry Marshall alongside Ron Howard and Henry Winkler in the classic sitcom "Happy Days," the role made Scott Baio famous in American households. Having risen to teenage idol status, Baio appeared as a regular on ABC's "Happy Days" from 1977-1984. He and his series' love interest, the character of Joanie Cunningham (played by Erin Moran) were so popular that a spin-off was created for them, titled, "Joanie Loves Chachi." When the spin-off proved to be short-lived, Baoi returned to "Happy Days." Scott Baio went on to star in a series titled, "Charles in Charge" with Nicole Eggert. The actor also directed some of the episodes. The story of a preppy, male au pair making his way through school by caring for young kids got off to a rocky start at CBS. However, it found new life in syndication and enjoyed a three year stint. In the early days of his entertainment career, Baio starred in "Blansky's Beauties," "Skatetown U.S.A." and "Who's Watching The Kids." 1980 was the year to be seen as 'the kid in trouble.' It brought Baio "The Boy Who Drank Too Much" for CBS and the ABC afternoon special "Stoned." Later in his career, Mr. Baio costarred in the sitcom, "Baby Talk," on ABC, which was inspired by the feature filmcomedy "Look Who's Talking," and in the television film, "Alice Though The Looking Glass," "The Truth About Alex" and "Perry Mason: The Case of The Fatal Fashion," before joining the cast of "Diagnosis Murder" where he played Dr. Jack Stewart. Scott Baio also appeared in Danielle Steele's "Mixed Blessings," "Detonator," and "Very Mean Men." Among his many guest starring credits are "Veronica's Closet," "The Nanny," "Friends," "Jack's Place," "Full House," "The Fall Guy," and "Out Of This World" and "The Love Boat."

character

Dr. Jack Stewart
Grew up on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak, but with Mark's help, became a Doctor. He was helpful to Mark and Steve when they investigated crimes because of his ability to pick locks and run cons.
Jack was always helpful towards Mark and Amanda, and enjoyed following Steve round when he was on a case. Jack liked the action of crime and wanted to be there with Steve to 'catch the bad guy' as well as be 'cool'. Oh, and Jack drives a very nice sporty car!
His godfather was the head of a crime gang, which inspired Jack to battle against crime.
Jack was named One of the Top Bachelor's of the Year and when he left Community General, he went to Colorado and opened his own practise, where he could also ski!

Jack is very similar to Jesse, wants to be in with the action and enjoys the company of Steve as well as the rest of the gang.
